Japanese Doctor’s Nighttime Clove Tea

Ingredients:

  • 5–6 whole cloves
  • 1 small cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a small saucepan.
  2. Add cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, and ginger slices.
  3. Simmer for 8–10 minutes to release the natural oils and aroma.
  4. Strain into a cup.
  5. Add honey and lemon juice if desired.
