Ingredients
- 1 avocado seed (pit), washed and dried
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1 slice lemon (optional)
- 1 small cinnamon stick (optional)
Instructions
- Remove the seed from a ripe avocado and wash it thoroughly.
- Allow the seed to dry for a few hours, then cut it into smaller pieces or grate it carefully.
- Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add the avocado seed pieces to the boiling water.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a cup.
- Add honey, lemon, or cinnamon if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Tips
- Use a sharp knife carefully when cutting the seed, as it can be quite hard.
- The tea has a naturally mild, slightly bitter flavor.
- Add ginger or mint for extra flavor.
- Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- While avocado seed tea is popular in some home remedies, scientific evidence supporting specific health benefits is limited, so enjoy it as a beverage rather than a medical treatment.
